St Cleers Well

St. Cleer’s Well

St. Cleer’s Well was regarded as a “Bowsening Pool”, where "mad people" were immersed frequently to try and cure their insanity, and those who suffered from epilepsy be cured from their fits.

The Vicarage

According to Coxe, in the 1800’s, housemaids at the village Vicarage refused to kill any spiders in the building as they believed that their deceased master, a gentleman named Parson Jupp, had been reincarnated as one of them!
